This is indeed a classic post that is worth repeating. I had forgotten about the post which leads me to question short term and long term memory. But that is what happens when we age. So at certain times I look at old pictures of family and reflect back to times when nothing in my body ached like now when I seem to have new aches ever day. But that is a part of life and we know we are blessed and this is only a temporary condition.

We have so much to look forward to, don't we?

I wanted to wish you a very Happy Mother's Day! The weeks are flying by so fast I wanted to make sure I got my comment in your journal before Sunday. Mothers are so special I thank God for my best friend and mother everyday she is remarkable words really could not describe my mother all together Lovely and soooooo MUCH MORE we laugh, we shop etc. most important we are saved by God Grace! I finished reading your book I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chapter that resinated with me the most is Memories WOW! I agree. The memories about your grandmother are so precious. My memories of my grandmother she is the lady God used to teach us early in life about Jesus and his love she planted the seed and that's the reason my mom and I are saved today because of her being saved in 1969. She went home to heaven in 1982. I thank God for making the Gospel real to my grandmother so mom and I could have a example early in life. Mom is 67 and I am 41 this is our life living for JESUS!!!

I want to say a very, very special Happy belated Mother’s Day to my dear Mother! I am just so blessed to have her in my life in more ways than you cud possibly know! ---though she’s finally understanding that I am the mother now and she is the child because she is now the weaker vessel! Ha! Change is never fun, but nevertheless, we can’t stop it from happening. My mom had a wonderful Mother’s day and she has been praising God lots more. Thank You JESUS!

Hoping all is well with you and your family. The toils of the road will seem as nothing when we get to the end of the way.
It brings joy to my soul to think on the faithfulness of God. Day after day He proves if we believe His promises perpetual peace will be our portion without a doubt.
I must testify: Two years ago my then 22 year old son moved in with a girl who pursued him since he was 18 year sold because she heard he choose to wait, save himself until he marry. He spent all kinds of money on him. Smh. After high school, he received a scholarship to the University of Toledo as a Bio. Chemistry major. Lost his scholarship after his sophomore year his Gpa. Fell below 3.6. Then One wrong move after another he ended living with this girl. When I found out I was livid. I was in my kitchen at the time I reached for my keys, because I was going to confront this girl. As I touched the keys the Holy Spirit said 'the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.' I went to my closet up stairs cried to the Lord you promised to keep what I commit to you against that day....I committed him before he was even born...Please do something... don't let all the sacrifices be in vain...I stood alone being ridiculed by family and acquaintances for my not approving the relationship. This Easter I sowed my Res Seed one issue I directed my seed to was the will of God be done in my son's life. Last week my son ended the relationship and came home to start over with God and to complete his education. Much more to be said but this is the shorten version. Will God do what He As He Say, I am convinced. .. I have come too far to back up, waver, second guess. Will Heal? Oh yes to the utmost... I had a medical crisis a month ago I sat on my bed panicking, out of my belly rolled the words; when I was on the Cross, you were on my mind'... The symptoms began to dissipate... There were no medical treatment for what was happening with me, But God!!! #greatisthyfaithfulnessohGod

Hi. I pray that all is well. I too can't imagine what they've felt when Jesus died on that cross. Someone had to pay the price and it was Jesus. Thank God that Mary was a woman after God's heart. She assisted God with His plan and now we can partake in this great blessing. Be blessed. I pray for daily. All is well

America need to follow the ONE TRUE GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in so doing we need to bless His people, the God of the BIBLE of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob less America continues to be cursed by the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob! I pray that America chooses God's blessings and will call upon the God of Israel to help us in these confounding times as we turn completely turn our lives over to Him for help in these troubled times.

I’m so excited about the upcoming event, “Masters Welcome “in our Church. I’m so full of anticipation to witness thousands of souls being saved!
I would like to ask however reads “Jonis Journal” to pray for the cast as they work so hard to make this production a success and for Pastor Parsley for strength as he delivers the gospel message after every production. I would like to encourage everyone to attend to this production. I would like to encourage you to be there and be in prayer for souls, but even better, to invite as many people as you can!!!
I read this quote the other day and it touched my heart so deeply: ” The Gospel is not an alternative, it’s an ultimatum.” ~ Reinhard Bonnke. Saving souls is a lifestyle for a Christian, a constant motivation in life. If we lost our zeal for souls it would be a tragedy. I have unsaved family members, they live in Hungary. My father is an atheist and my mother is an alcoholic . I talk with them through Skype every week and I have been praying for them for 28 years. When I see them I see two lost souls trying to run from God. Oh, how I would love for someone walk up to them and present the Gospel to them or invite them to an event. I cannot be in Hungary so I reach souls here in the States. Every soul we reach is someone’s mother, father, children..etc.
The Gospel is the center of Gods heart, we cannot be any closer to God when we reach out for souls! At that moment we are in the perfect will of God. I hope many people go out of their way, and out of their comfort zone to invite people. This is the greatest Soul Winning opportunity in our Church!! Please be a part of it!!

This has been my favourite post yet!! First of all, thank you for being courageous enough to write about something so personal and so dear to your heart. Your words of wisdom are ever so encouraging! You truly are a source of inspiration to me and many others! You are blessed to be a blessing to others and I appreciate you!

I had the opportunity to spend a year with Austin (and Ashton) many years ago. During that time I witnessed more miracles in Austin's everyday life than most would experience in a lifetime! God has brought him through so many obstacles, helped him climb many mountains and been with him as his faced his deepest fears. God has been so faithful, and continues to be, in Austin's life. As I have shared with you before and I believe the Holy Spirit spoke this to my heart: Austin is not set apart for his "disability" but for his ABILITY! He was a young boy who impacted my life and for that I am grateful for the time spent with him!

Amen Miss. Joni and Dawn!!! I have always thought of Austin as a sign and a wonder. This past three weeks the words Dawn uses confirm exactly what I know The Spirit of God spoke in my spirit. He is healed, if he was not healed he would not graduate with 4.+ GPA. He would not have the fear of God and living as a follower of Christ. Because he accomplishes these great feat differently than most makes him no less of a champion or a sign of the power of God to use the foolish things to confound the wise. What?? How many persons with no diagnosis have achieved what Austin has. Be sides being heaven ready, he has two of God's greatest gift to our generation as parents. The most awesome Sister and Grand Mother. Austin is a Blessed man. God has already blessed him and no weapon formed against him shall prosper. Impossible God is not dead, not a man nor is he confused. God did not cause Austin's struggles but He sees him through them all. God thinks very highly of your family to entrust you with the treasure He has in Austin. I know you know the real fight all these years is for your family's FAITH IN GOD and His Power and Promises. When you are tested remember God loves you, and nothing comes to your life unless God allows it. And the fact that He allows a thing is proof He has already created a way of escape. In our reading this morning God's conversation with Moses about the children of Israel really opened my eyes. God told Moses I heard what they said, that they reverence God so they dare not take His presence lightly; then He continues. ..Oh would they be consistent in their trust in me I would bless them and their children... (paraphrasing). From watching your family and the behaviors of Austin from a distance I am learning the importance of consistency with God. To consistently trust God at all times this was a big AHA for me today many things will change from this revelation. You owe no man no explanation only your TESTIMONY of the Goodness of Jesus and the Awesome expression of God's extravagant love that we get to know Austin and your family.

Sister Joni, I just finished reading your book and must tell you it's a blessing full of encouragement, certainly humor, and inspiration, as a Christian, father and grandfather of 16 (soon to be 17 .. yes Jason). While passing 50 is so far back in the rear view mirror these days, I related well to your comments and Random Thoughts about hitting five 0, but much more the impact of our children, on raising, and releasing them as well .. our lives are so much richer for having them, and we get to enjoy the grandchildren now.
As for men asking directions, you must know it's in our DNA I suppose, but we just keep trying to prove we've got what it takes, even if it takes forever to do so (forgive us for we know not what we do).
We love you personally as First Lady of this congregation and we love your spirit for life and through life, .. so great to know His love never fails and He never gives up!
Thank you for being obedient to pour out your heart and life (to make yourself somewhat vulnerable even) so that we may be encouraged along our journey. Yes, we have renewed hope day by day!

Yesterday, on World Autism Day, we were doubly blessed - our order of Tapestry of Faith reached us and also we watched yours and Ashton's broadcast on Daystar with Marcus and Joni Lamb. You see, our son Brandon, is also 22 - and autistic. Unfortunately he was denied the therapy he should have received because of an incompetent and uncaring system which offered every excuse under the sun - lack of personnel, lack of funding etc. Even when we tried to pay privately we were blocked. But it was not for want of trying, Joni. We have always done everything we could and still do. Brandon is a truly wonderful son, quite severely autistic in many ways yet at the same time has made a lot of inroads. He is instantly loved by everyone who meets him. He is our only son; we have a daughter too, Georgia, age 17, who also has special needs, very different and in some ways more serious (Spina Bifida) but we could not be more proud of or more grateful for both our children. I know we’ll be blessed by your book, Joni. We were so touched by the way you prayed on TV for parents of special needs children. Our love and prayers for you all. Hi Miss Joni!
It was awesome to see you and Ashton on Daystar! Woo-hoo!!! I never thought I see the day that Miss Joni wud be on anything without her hubby sitting right next to her! You go girl! Although Ashton is a replica of her dad, when I looked at Ashton, I cud not help but seeing her dad in her! Ashton looked just as proud of her mom as Pastor looks of her. There is much to be learned from you all as a family and you definitely reflect on another and how can you not be affected in every area of your lives as you grow together? I can definitely see where you all get your strength; we know it comes from God, but it is quite noticeable how you each have been given the strength from God to hold each other up through your hard times. When one is down, you got three people getting you back up! I thank God for you all being such a great example for others to see what a family truly is. I know that you Miss Joni have struggled to finish your book, but when you got three people that love you dearly who are extremely gifted people in your life filled with great faith in God, pushing you to keep going and cheering you on as you get to the finish line; I'm sure that made it really hard for you to give up! I’m just glad to be a part!

A short note or plug to let you know how I'm doing.

Now I am planning for the future with some health problems behind me. Last year I could not volunteer for the Special Olympics due to health reasons. But this year - I plan to volunteer again for the Ohio Special Olympics in my state.

I can't tell you how rewarding that it is to volunteer in any venue worth wile. It's fun and you often get back so much more than you put into it or sacrifice some small amount of your time.

The young people and the kids are quite competitive. The Special Olympics do a great deal to enhance the lives of their Special Olympics athletes.

Your children and grandchildren are watching, give back and Volunteer!
